About This Policy

Pi-Systems Solutions ("we", "us", "our"), a technology company based in Japan, operates the MyDeen - Quran, Hadith & Dua mobile application and the associated web community at pi-sys.com/community (collectively, the "Service").

This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and your rights over it. It applies to all users of the MyDeen Android application and associated web services.

By installing or using MyDeen, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the application and discontinue use.

Data We Collect

The table below lists every type of data we collect, mapped to Google Play Data Safety categories:

We explicitly do NOT collect:

• Real name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
• Precise or approximate GPS / location data
• Contacts, calendar, files, photos, videos, or audio from your device
• Payment or financial information
• Health or biometric data
• Browsing history outside of this app
• Advertising identifiers (Google Advertising ID / IDFA)
• Hardware device IDs (IMEI, MAC address, or serial number)

How We Use Your Data

• To provide the Service: Display community posts, comments, reactions, and replies so all users can see them.
• To maintain and improve the app: Detect crashes, fix bugs, understand feature usage, session lengths, and device platforms to prioritize improvements.
• Security and abuse prevention: Detect and block spam, malicious posts, or unusual API usage through IP-based rate limiting.
• Aggregate analytics only: We review de-identified, aggregated statistics (total sessions, platform splits, average session length). No individual user profiling occurs.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only in these specific, limited circumstances:

Public Community Content

Posts are associated with the optional display name you choose. If you provide no name, your post appears as "Anonymous". Display names are not verified and do not need to be your real name.

Community content may be indexed by search engines. You can request removal at any time by contacting us (see Section 12).

Data Retention

Security of Your Data

• Encryption in transit: All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or higher. This applies to every API endpoint.
• Database access control: Our database is on a secured server with access restricted to the application and authorized personnel only.
• Rate limiting: API endpoints are rate-limited to prevent abuse and denial-of-service attacks.
• No password storage: No account system exists, so no passwords are ever stored.
• Input validation: All submitted data is validated and sanitized server-side before storage.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

MyDeen - Quran, Hadith & Dua is a family-friendly Islamic companion. It contains no advertising, in-app purchases, or age-restricted content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Because community posts are publicly visible, we recommend children under 13 use the community features under parental supervision.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has posted personal information (such as their real name or school), please contact us immediately at [email protected]. We will remove it promptly.

Your Rights and Choices

• Right to know: Ask us what data (if any) is linked to your session or device.
• Right to access: Request a copy of community content you have submitted.
• Right to deletion: Request deletion of your community posts, comments, and session logs (see Section 12).
• Right to correction: If your community post contains incorrect information, contact us to update or remove it.
• Right to opt out of analytics: Opt out of app usage logging in App Settings at any time — this does not affect community features.
• Right to data portability: Request an export of community posts you have submitted.

To exercise any right, email us (Section 17) with subject "Privacy Request – MyDeen". We respond within 30 calendar days.

How to Request Data Deletion

Since no user accounts exist, please identify your content using:

• The text of the post or comment you want removed
• The approximate date/time it was posted
• The display name you used (if any)

Steps to request deletion:

3. Describe the content to be removed
4. We confirm deletion within 14 business days

Third-Party Services and SDKs

We do not use: Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Adjust, AdMob, Facebook SDK, social login SDKs, or any third-party advertising SDK. All analytics are collected first-party through our own API.

GDPR — Users in the EEA, UK & Switzerland

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent national laws.

Legal basis for processing:

• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — app usage analytics and security/abuse prevention
• Performance of a service / consent — displaying community content you voluntarily submit
• Legal obligation — compliance with applicable law where required

Additional GDPR rights: right to object to processing based on legitimate interests; right to restrict processing; right to lodge a complaint with your national Data Protection Authority.

Data transfers from the EEA to Japan are covered by the EU adequacy decision for Japan (Commission Decision 2019/419), ensuring an equivalent level of protection to the GDPR.

APPI — Users in Japan

Pi-Systems Solutions is based in Japan and complies with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) as amended effective April 2022.

• Personal information is used only within the purposes stated in this policy.
• We do not provide personal information to third parties without consent, except as stated in Section 5.
• You may request disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, or suspension of third-party provision of your personal information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves or as legal requirements change. For material changes we will: update the "Last updated" date above, display an in-app notification, and log the change below.

Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
